Sally Collings

Sally CollingsWriter and publisher Sally Collings has worked in book publishing for more than 20 years in Australia and London. During that time, she has worked for major international companies such as HarperCollins, News Corporation and Microsoft.

In 2007 her first book as an author was published: Sophie’s Journey, the story of Sophie Delezio (the Sydney girl who caught Australia’s heart after surviving two tragic accidents). It became an immediate bestseller. Sally’s second book, Positive, was published in 2009, which she followed up later that year with The World According to Kids. Her latest book, Parenting with Soul, was released in late-April 2011.

Sally has worked as consultant and co-writer on other bestsellers including RPA surgeon Chris O’Brien’s Never Say Die and A Letter to Sophie with Ron Delezio and Carolyn Martin.

In her career as a publisher Sally has turned her hand to everything from a history of NIDA to how-to manuals on artistic techniques, working alongside authors including wine writer James Halliday, cookbook queen Donna Hay and real estate guru John McGrath.

These days, her particular subject areas of interest include memoir, motivation, parenting and spirituality – but she still enjoys the challenges of stepping outside her comfort zone.
