Red Hill is an author-retained rights publisher. Our authors invest in the production of their work and then pay 12.5% on all books sold; but only after all pre-print costs are recouped.
In return, authors retain their rights, control and the majority of the profits. On a traditional publishing deal the author would make, say, 10% of a book selling for $29.95 ($3 per copy). Red Hill authors make 87.5% of the selling price ($26 per copy on a $29.95 book) after the establishment costs are recouped through sales, and earn 100% of all revenue before establishment costs are recouped.
We offer the same percentage breakdown for our digital distribution services into online stores such as Amazon’s Kindle Store (net receipts).
Importantly, we only select titles that we consider have strong sales potential, so that our authors don’t end up (as can be the case) with a garage full of books that they can’t shift.
If these arrangements interest you we look forward to receiving and assessing your manuscript.
An important note about submissions
- We only accept manuscript submissions via our submission form.
- Paper submissions will be recycled without prejudice.
- Complete all required fields as thoroughly as possible.
