The Red Hill Team
- Sally Collings
-
Writer and publisher Sally Collings has worked in book publishing for more than 20 years. During that time, she has worked for major international companies such as HarperCollins, News Corporation and Microsoft. In 2007 her first book as an author was published: Sophie’s Journey, the story of Sophie Delezio (the Sydney girl who caught Australia’s heart after surviving two tragic accidents). It became an immediate bestseller. Sally’s second book, Positive, was published in 2009, and her latest, The World According to Kids, is due for release later this year. She has worked as consultant and co-writer on other bestsellers including RPA surgeon Chris O’Brien’s Never Say Die and A Letter to Sophie with Ron Delezio and Carolyn Martin.
In her career as a publisher Sally has turned her hand to everything from a history of NIDA to how-to manuals on artistic techniques, working alongside authors including wine writer James Halliday, cookbook queen Donna Hay and real estate guru John McGrath. These days, her particular subject areas of interest include memoir, motivation, parenting and spirituality – but she still enjoys the challenges of stepping outside her comfort zone.
Sally polished my writing style while staying true to my voice and the message I was sharing.
Jo Bassett (Living Savvy founder, therapist and coach)
Sally combines constant good humour with remarkable attention to detail – an unusual combination.
Melinda Hunt (Director, Pro Bono Publico)
Sally is a pleasure to work with. Complete understanding of the nuts and bolts of publishing and a brilliant editor.

- Robert Collings
-
Robert Collings has 15 years' management experience in music, arts and education. Most recently publisher of the online trade journal Entertainment+Media, he has managed bands signed to multinational record companies and orchestrated marketing campaigns and events in the music and education industries.
In analysing the digital media evolution Robert has successfully predicted a range of trends that have subsequently affected music industry investors and creators alike. His background in the music world equips him with hands-on experience with the key issues now facing the book industry: sales and distribution (online and brick+mortar), digital piracy, digital rights and digital pricing. Dismisive of so-called 'futurists', Robert considers himself a digital media 'transitionist'.
The business name Acute Communication [Red Hill's parent company] sums up Robert's qualities so well. Not only does his analysis of business, communication and media (whether it be film, music or books) acutely describe the current and future situation of these fields but he is able to communicate this analysis clearly, yet with panache.
Rob is exactly the person you want in your corner, giving advice. Rob's experience with the mass changes that have occurred in the music industry is going to place him in good stead for strategising the future of books – or more appropriately monetising written text in emerging new formats."Anthony Aitken (Cultural Projects Manager/Strategist, Communiqué Projects)
Robert Collings has a very astute business mind. I was extremely privileged to work with Robert on a number of music business projects that were successful thanks to his commitment, foresight and his analysis of how the project would succeed.
Tony Campbell (music industry/digital media entrepreneur)
